It's spreading.
I've not actually gotten anything this bad, but I've been spammed for a "South African" resources page, and for weight loss shot information.
Someone needs to die.

Oy.
This is the first one I've gotten, but if it keeps up, I'll be getting a plug-in called "MT-Blacklist." You might wanna look it up, if you use Movable Type. I hear it's pretty damn effective.

Yes, but the killing would be more effective, no?

The only people I know that know anything about percription drugs have had a long history with many kinds themselves. The rest just like strange words. They're stupid, just so you know.

The same stupid spam thing just showed up in derelict, a group blog I participate in. Sigh.

Heh. I transcribe pharm industry audio tapes for a living, usually focus groups. You have no idea what kind of trouble they have finding names for meds. There's a multimillion dollar industry devoted just to creating new brand names, because it's gotten so tough to prevent repeats. And besides, "soma" long, long predates Aldous Huxley. He got the name from Hindu mythology, specifically the Rg Vedas. (I have a sneaking suspicion you weren't cracking the Vedas for "summer reading," unless maybe you went to prep school. *smirk*)

Y'don't say... Huh. Wow. Well, y'learn something new every day. Thanks. But still, the connotations of the name "Soma" seem kinda... inescapable. Regardless of its origin.
