Just throught I'd paste the hilarious commentary atached the the LJ update alert on this...
"OMG OMG This is my comic about my char who is a beautiful Japanese kitsune schoolgirl mecha pilot serial killer Goth faerie Dark Elf raver an' what happens when she falls into Middle Earth when Harry and Ron cast a spell on them all an' they gotta fight Legolas an' Jack Sparrow for her hand in marriage! EEEEEEEE KAWAII-DESU! ^___^ "
Spike, this is your genius.
Someday, someone has to do a webcomic called "Mary Sue Must Die"...

I only wish half of that was exaggeration.

I have to confess that I helped contribute to the dreck that is 90% of webcomics. I used to run one called Geeks Bearing Gifts with atricious art (I've barely imrproved since then...), poor writing, and no update schedule.
It was a Something Awful Link Of The Day once. That's how bad it was.
Fortunately, the sever it was on went to heaven, and it's now almost totally disappeared except for a strip on the web archive.

I still really think that Anime and Manga in america is a fad. I hope it is, anyway. I'll wait another five years and see what happens.
Tokyopop keeps loosing my respect the larger that they grow. They're taking too many liberties in the translations so these kids can understand them. (ADV Manga too, also grrowing rapidly but doing no better.) And then... Tokyopop also has this "Rising Stars of Manga" which makes me sick.
As for webcomics, I stopped reading them years ago. I'm the type that'd rather read comics in a large chunk than once a week, three times a week, or whenever the artist feels like it. At the time it seemed like every comic I was reading was taking time off every other week, so I got bored with them. Sometimes I'll find a comic and spend some time to read the archives for a couple days... but then it ends in the middle of a story. I have yet to find one interesting enough to keep me coming back. As for myself, I had a run of my comic "Dat&Cog" for a bit, and this summer it may become a flash comic of sorts. It's most definatly currently in the 90%, but at least in knows it. If that doesn't work out, I'll stick to making movies.

Yeaahhh, that's some good musing. Mmm...
Well, thanks to that and another article over on Comixpedia ("I Hate You All"), I've decided to stop working on the short comic I currently have been. I realised that I was just trying to finish the damn thing, and that is NOT a good mentality to have. I have a much better project in mind that I know I"ll enjoy doing, and I plan to treat it like my job. Like something I really want to be remembered by. Here's hoping the result doesn't suck.
