Atrocity Tourism Download: Rock 'N' Roll Comics: Vanilla Ice.

Because God loves you, and He wants you to be happy.

The best part about this UNAUTHORIZED AND PROUD OF IT artifact of the 90's comics glut is that it was published at the very height of Vanilla Ice's career. It was written, illustrated, and slapped on the shelf before anyone even had time to blink. The snickers hadn't even begun. We all still thought The Ninja Rap was sort of awesome. A guy could wear an airbrsuhed denim jacket without being hunted down in the streets like an animal. Strange days, indeed.

Me, I like to pretend they never happened.

A few excerpts.

Huh. Reminds me of my brother.

I'll bet Ice considers these the best years of his life. Think about that.

Go to a record store and demand some ABOVE-GROUND rap. Someone. Please. Then swing by my place once they sign you out of trauma ward, I wanna count the stitches.

Uhm.

3.7MB download. Have fun.

you know, in high school, our senior song was officially voted "Ninja Rap." seriously, majority of our senior class wrote it in on the ballot or what have you. our school administration didn't like that, though, so they gave us some crappy lame generic senior song. i don't even remember what it was. fuckit!

we were all pretty angry about that. we were really looking forward to throwing our caps in the air to "GO NINJA GO NINJA GO!!!"

That's priceless... I oughta dig out the WWF Ultimate Warrior comic I had as a kid...

My brother was a Vanilla Ice Avatar... No, seriously, he had the hair and everything. Born in Peoria, but you would have thought he was from the slums of Chicago...

That was right before his Goth phase.

Thanks for making me forget the pain in my carpal tunnels...

That third panel--Ice looks like the Fruit Stripe Gum zebra.

He went to high school about two miles from where I lived. I laughed when I found that out, because Richland, Texas is about as far from the mean streets as you can get.
The only thing mean about it was how aggressively suburban it was.

Hey,

I'm the creator of this Vanilla Ice comic. Yeah, it's not our best effort at Rock 'N' Roll Comics. But the Vanilla Ice issue sold 85,000 copies in about 90 days, ranking as one of out top 10 selling issues out of over 300 comics we published at Revolutionary. Go figger!

Penciller Greg Fox got his start at RevCom and went on to become the well known creator of Doctor Chaos and other characters. I later formed my own imprint, Carnal Comics, under which I published around 100 comics featuring famous adult film stars i worked with (our newest issue stars Jenna Jameson).

Ha ha ha! Holy shit. I was blown away when I found this link on Google. I had just set up my girlfriend's internet access and decided to search for my screen name on Google, and I find this. I am amazed that this comic I scanned has become to widespread! Mucho thanks for the credit!
