Well, THAT sort of sucks.

Had a Fed-Ex package stolen out of the mailroom, today.

I know it was there, because I got a call from the mail carrier, asking if I wanted her to bring it up to my apartment, or just leave it by the boxes. As usual, and as not to be a bother, I said leave it. I'd come get it.

It's gone now.

$50.00 worth of Winsor & Newton Series 7 watercolor paintbrushes. Poof.

I will be a bother from now on.

Fuck.

I'm obviously just naive, but the really frustrating thing is that the thief took the package, opened it, realized it was basically worthless except to ther person who was ordering it... and then didn't put the package back. Those brushes are probably down a trash chute somewhere. They were supposed to last me the rest of the summer.

I can't order more until next month, on account of the budgeting I'm doing to be able to afford Comic-Con. Fuck. My line quality is going to be in the toilet for the next few weeks.

On the bright side, though, Wagner (he posts here, sometimes) said I should think of it more as "Paying $50.00 to ruin an idiot's day."

Any chance of getting something cheaper that'll work? I'm not a brush-inker, so I wouldn't know... I use cheap Hobby-Lobby craft brushes for my needs. I'd send you some, but I doubt they'd work for what you want.

Anyone with some actual knowledge of the subject want to start a "Keep Spike's Lines Purty" donation drive?

ACK. NO. NO DONATIONS. NOT BEING MODEST OR COY, HERE. No donations, please. I posted mostly for the luxury of bitching, I don't want anyone's money. I appreciate the thought, though.

I plan on wrapping the brushes I have now in little reams of wet toilet paper to re-establish their shapes. That should hold me fine until next month.
