Frankly I'm appalled. If you goto http://peyote.com/jonstef/mushroom.gif, you'll find some mushrooms I designed in the early Dawn Of Time, but have since lost the original blueprints for. I hope you will take the time to compare my design to that used in both Super Mario games and Mr Lawrence's art.
Obviously, I have been the victim of widespread copyright theft, and am discussing the possibility of Supernatural Action with my attourney.
It's not that I want the money, you see, just that I would like to be recognised as the original artist, and credited appropriately.

When I entered this thread the first comment made was by a person who said they are "God." What may have happened here is the fact that in the past before I ever came to this thread I had been grilled by a group of people in another thread who specialize in breaking down claims. It may have followed from what people have read and been conditioned to. I hope not because I had offered to answer questions and learn from other artists and Spike of the Iron Circus. The old thread had people who feed off of each other and were into seeing who could make the best point to conclude that a claim is fact or false. Not what I am here to express or prove. In my case I happen to be the real creator of Mario and crew. When I step back and look at the whole picture of my claim I understand how it would be hard to digest. At the same time these people had the need to show others how their comments and slick questions could be productive in relation the outcome of a claim. Soon they all have a feeding frenzy, light bulbs turning on, bells ringing, horns honking, and what ever else is added to the claim soup of the day........ It seemed to become who's the funnest, rudest, smartest, ect. Once the thread gets going they forget that they are in comunication with a real person. Very easy to do because they are already jaded from doing this over and over and also in reality they are looking into a computer and not the eyes of the person who made the claim face to face. Yes, the claim I make is hard to believe because Nintendo is huge and has made alot of money off of Mario. I am like most people when you compare me to a large corperation I don't stand much of a chance and I have very little backup or proof of my claim. Its almost like being told you couldn't be the artist who created Mario because your not a corperation. When really it was so simple, all it took was a box of crayola crayons and a sketch pad for me to create Mario and crew. I didn't have to be a corperation. Knowing copyright law at the time would have been helpful. In the long run I don't care who used my art without my permission I know I created Mario and crew artworks. Its justice I want and of course It would be nice to have the money for my wife and children after all I earned some of it. I did the main part of the art they did the games. To let you know, I don't care much about money for myself. I like simple things, like going for a walk or for a ride on my bike along the beach ,sky, the faces of happy people, the sound of waves. My dad was correct, it is hard to make a living as an artist, and my answer today is," I'm still glad I was born an artist."

I've been in contact with Arden Lawrences ex-sister in law Mary Fritz. She told me that not only did Arden never attend an art school, but he's also had a history of drug and alcohol abuse and she said that she would be too surprised if he started making false claims in order to somehow profit from them. She's currently trying to scan his high school photo to send to me.

Mary Fritz has issues of her own. I did know her but my brother was married to her sister and Marry has no knoledge of me or my study of art at Los Angeles City College in the 80's. It has no issue on the Mario artworks I did because I created the artworks in the 70's. The fact that she claims I had drug or drinking issues also have nothing to do with my artworks of Mario and crew.

It may have also been the early 90's I went to school at Los Angeles City College and was an art major. You can check if you like. I did drink and take drugs after I came home from the Air Force in 1977. I was young and had been under great stress. I went to Fort Bayard for drinking and drug abuse treatment not long after I got out of the service.I no have not drank or taken drugs for years I even quit smoking cigs. I married Peaches as in Princess Peach, ask Marry what my x-wifes name was "Elanor" but myself and everyone knew her as Peaches,as in Princess Peach. Also ask her who Louis Villines was as in Luigi, and If Mario Garcia worked at the car lot with me. Ask Marrys mother who the chief of police was and if I Mario and I worked for him as we gerw up. I would like to say once again I have nothing to hide because I am telling the truth. I created Mario and crew. The reason I divorced Peaches is because she was on drugs I could not help her could'nt live like that. I made myself a better life and moved to Los Angeles to be a better person, also Mary is not a bad person she just lives in a small town where people talk about each other. Mary had a hard life I met here when I was 12, her family are good people and I love her and all of her family as friends and always will, my brother is no longer married to her sister but I still feel like they are family. To make another point, I have not seen Mary Fritz for around 30 years. Mary Fritz is not my sister-in -law. She was married to my brother. Mary Fritz spoke to me briefly on or about 1977, it was a brief,” hello." It was at the parking lot of Cobre High School after I returned from the Air Force. At the time her boyfriend David True, if I remember the name correctly, became angry and jealous because I said," hi" back to her. I did not ever have Mary Fritz at my home ever for anything not even a cup of coffee. Mary Fritz has no basis or fact to her opinion that I would make a false claim for money. I retired at the age of 21. I did work although I am retired. I went to Los Angeles City College, Mary apparently didn't know about that because she hasn't heard from or of me in many years. I have no record for any kind of false claim or scam to take money from anybody. Mary Fritz has no idea who I am because she never really knew me except for saying an occasional, "hi." I do know that the small town of about 3,000 that Mary Fritz lives in or near is full of gossip and everybody there is subject. Mary Fritz included. If you want more information Mary Fritz is a poor source of info. First of all she doesn’t know me and really never did. Second Mary Fritz has not seen me in about 30 years. Third Mary Fritz is working off gossip, second hand information, and a poor opinion. This is because I know that I have never had one conversation with her in my life about anything. How would she know me?

To scan my High School picture could be a way to know that I did attend Cobre High School as I had said before. Also it could be a way to know that Mario Garcia or the real Mario attended Cobre High School also and that he graduated around 1973 as I had stated before. If you think Mary Fritz is a good person to except info from go for it. Mary is an ok person just to let you know once again she don't really know me its been to many years.

I think it don't matter to me. I just want to learn and let people know I am the real creator of Mario and crew. So like I have said more than once, I'm not here to make a show like see me, see me, thats not my style. I'm not here to prove that I am who I am and the point I have reached as an artist. I have made it as an artist and its ok if just I know or believe in myself. I want it to be known, If people don't believe me its just oh well, next page . I am a lucky guy I have a family a wife of almost 20 years, two sons and one will attending Cal State next year, the other is a cool skateboarder in high school and I live in sunny California. I eat coco puffs for breakfast and don't live too far from the beach so what more could I ask for. Oh yes and I am retired and don't have to work so I can have a day off every day. Its fine for you to think what ever you want. I think your the best, and by the way I would like to take the time to also say Happy Birthday and don't worry your still a baby. Arden Lawrence

I know I said I would no longer make contact to this thread. I take it back I can only put up with so much from people that think they are god at times. Thor,I don't know who you spoke to but I think he is misinformed or don't know. He don't know what has happened and that he is a victim of the circumstance that surround the true story of who the true artist of Mario is. Also he don't know who the real Mario was. He passed away many years ago. As far as saying I'm crazy its only his opinion and I wish he wolud consider getting his point across in a more civilized manor. I think he should make an effort to understand who I am and what is the truth if someone told him he was the real Mario. Because if he thinks hes the real Mario someone pulled a good one on him and he is living a real lie. I am not a lier, he has no idea of what he is talking about. He is walking around thinking he is someone he is not, so what could he really know. Tell him to contact me and I will answer any questions he may have to the best of my ability. So that he will learn that he has been taken advantage of and also that I may find more names and info on who is responsible for my Mario and crew artworks being used without permission.

If you feel I have made accuasations that were not very nice I am sorry. I can only once again say I can not tolerate too much when someone projects themself as god, and even say their name as so. That is not my excuse I don't have one for being assertive. Someone who claimed to be god was the first thing I had to deal with among everything else being tossed at me, kitchen sink not included but almost. For someone to say they are God is just the wrong button or nerve to push, that I don't tolerate and its my fault for letting it get to me. If someone pushes someone's button then they may have to deal with the way the person being pushed responds. I don't mean any hard feelings to you or anybody. I didn't just wake up and try to know everybody here and demand them to know me. There has been a chain of events that lead me here not only that how would I know anybody if I didn't communicate with you or them? I was in this thread by chance before I ever knew it existed. I never knew this thread was here I just happend to stumble across it as I did research on my artworks. At times I do research and collect names and information that pertain to the use of my artworks without my permission. Another reason, because the real Mario and I grew up together as best friends. I don't know where Yoshi came from. I think I may have done him too. It's been many years. I think he is a little guy I may have claimed at one point in time, but he may also be someone elses. I used to do him or somthing very much like him as a child and recreated somthing like him at the time I did Mario. The name haunts me because I thought It sounds like a name I would come up with but I don't really remember. So I thought he was mine at one point in time, but at this point I can't honestly say. He may be but may also be somthing close to the one I used to do, and like I said maybe he belongs to someone else. So at this point in time I don't think it would be fair to claim him. I can say I can claim Mario and the others I have spoke of because I know they are my artworks and names. Thank you for asking , I also thought about it at times.

Does any one beside's me remember in the late 60's early 70's they sold uncolored posters and a set of colored pens with all manor of phycadelic and mytholical pictures -- kind of coloring pages for hippies, Well You need to find out who had the copyright for those, because your "proof" above is one of those posters. My particular version had fusha and green mushrooms.

The paint I see on the walls. It's color many lines and all kinds of twisted shapes from spray to fine lines like rainbows of smoke signals that mean East Los Ageles and or any other place that seperate. Paint that means lines of war and hate. I see art that can speak, it may say religion. I know some of this scrible can bend and turn and swril into a mass of beauty that is a modern form of cuniform. I could mean stop do not go here. It could also say somthing like love and religion. Some of the people who spray the paint are called taggers I hear others are gangs and fight for space and at times want to take what ever thay don't want others to comand. Just like gangs of L.A. or where ever else art is that may say give me my place where I am and keep out. I look at the color and wonder what beauty but how can it be bent and twisted into such a mass of ideas that can also strike like the fang of a serpentine snake?

Hi how are you? Sorry it took so long to answer you I have not been here at this thread for a very long time. As I said before I don't know if I should claim Yoshi or not. I did a creature like him in a boat. It was a baby dragon that would sail across the sea. I do many artworks that are just something that come about for what reason I don't know. Many times I don't plan what I am going to draw I just start and it happens. Like one way is to draw a few lines and then try to picture what they look like when you connect dots like stars in the sky. Thank you for your concern . I think your really a strong person and your opinion is very important once again thank you so much.
