I love the intermission so far. I've been interested in the Sincerests since I saw the patch on the fanart page.

The intermission's great. I think it's good to break up the main story thread a bit from time to time to keep those characters fresh.
It's also likely to lead you towards more situating shots of our eponymous hero, Templar, and force you to draw lots more architecture...

I love the intermission and find myself fascinated by the Sincerists, especially as someone who really dislikes lying. It's a bit fantastic, GOD.

I've been looking forward to the Sincerists ever since seeing that fanart patch too ^_^ In fact, as soon as I saw it, I fell in love with the image and decided that if I ever were to get a tattoo, it would be of that. Unless, y'know, that's copyright infringement, or something >> I hadn't thought of that until now. But then, people have tattoos of like, Mickey Mouse and stuff, and I don't think any of them have been hauled into court. I might need to give this more study.

The pencils are a lot less work-intensive; I consider them a vacation, really. If I'm really tearing ass, no sleeping or breaks, I can get one page of Original Recipe Templar done in just over one day. A pencil page takes maybe six or seven hours, scanning and clean-up included.

I really enjoy this intermission. It fleshes out the city more, giving more to the story than just the main plot.
So far my favorite secondary characters would have to be the wickerheads. Their masks are dope.

Keep the intermission concept, absolutely. It's a great device for revealing Templar in all it's 'otherness' without having many other comics where Reagan's just explaining something to Ben.

Let me get this straight... wicker heads have some sort of oath to silence, right? And sincerists are people who hate any form of lying? In that case... do sincerists hate actors? And what happens when a wicker head sneezes? And for that matter, would it be considered wrong by a sincerist to say "God bless you," EVERY time someone sneezes? They do seem to have a bit of a "better than thou" vibe about them. Well... thats all a bit of topic and random I suppose.
Anyway, yeah, I like the intermission so far. Personally, I'm very partial to full canon story arcs myself, but this intermission seems to be working. I like getting to see more of the odd subgroups T.,A. has to offer.
Im afraid I only started reading the comic about 3 updates ago(the next day after I started, the last actual chapter page was posted), and I have never seen this fan art patch people are talking about. Might have to check it out then...

I can't speak for the author, obviously, but my thoughts re: the "Simone is my God" thing are that the Sincerists are just people and they can't always be aware of every single thing that they say (though the more serious ones would probably try harder).

i know its a bit mean of me and what not, but i really liked your marker style more than this pencil... i mean dont get me wrong i ove pencil and charcoal works. i do them myself but... i dunno its not so cool with comics.

I'm quite the late comment poster.
A huge part of any thought-up community or society to me is the culture. The people, the fashion, everything. I've been hoping you'd do something like this since Ben spotted the pastimes, and the Wickerheads are more interesting than ever, since you've put a name to them.
Of course, the plot is going somewhere good, and that drug cliffhanger has me anxious, but seeing what makes up the city isn't something to pass up on.

I just surfed over - think I clicked on a banner add - and read through the whole archive.
This is a really impressive comic. Your art is amazing, and the characters are.. I dunno. Instant classics? Very realistic, for sure. I liked them right away, with all their weirdness.
I'm gonna agree with the "yay intermissions!" theme of these comments so far! The city you've made is obviously huge and weird and full of strange cultural bits that the characters might never explore - short intermissions are a great way to add depth and flavour.
Keep it up.
