Templar: How did that Offspring song go?

Let's make hand grenades,
From common things around the house!

Let's make hand grenades!
Listen up, we'll show you how!

OK, now take an old beer bottle,
Fill it up with gasoline!
Some paint thinner for good measure,
And a sprinkle of manganese!
Now stuff a sock into the top,
With a Zippo you'll be king, YEAH!

Lets make hand grenades!
It's hours of fun in a little jar!
Let's make hand grenades!
Try one out on your neighbor's car!

Good song.

Enter The Cook Family. Because there's no such thing as too many squabbling factions.

With homemade explosives.

You know, I've been enjoying the living hell out of Templar, Arizona. I mean, on a level that you cannot imagine. It's some of the best writing that I've ever seen in a webcomic.

That being said, I'm hoping that the Cook family will get their collective heads kicked in by every movement that they've screwed with. They're griefers - as somebody else in the forums said - and griefers don't usually come to a good end.

I feel the same way as the poster above. The illustration art is something I've never seen before, and *gods* the level of inventiveness. Seeing a new update makes my week / day.

Does homicide still count as griefing?

And where are those riot cops?

I dunno, I'm kind of rooting for the Cook Family, as it stands. I don't much care for socialist movements like the Reclamation. But as far as I know, the Cook Family are similar, so I'll try to withhold judgement until the facts are out.

But the Cook Family definitely have better outfits.

I love that you guys are discussing this. I love that there are differing opinions.

And Darren, thanks for the kind words! My husband's familiar with your website, especially your review of FATAL. Good GOD.

SpikeSpigel: thank Offspring for the Molotov Cocktail song.

Spike: Love the comic. I personally am not choosing sides yet. I get the feeling that these little uprisings happen quite often. That's why Ben and crew need to keep masks around.

JP: Interesting theory about the masks! But no, if you go back a chapter or two to where Scipio is introduced, it's revealed that there's heavy pollutants/dust problems due to dams that dried up a river. Templar is really a mess on so many levels.

Someone asked where the riot cops are? Imagine the last few strips as a movie scene, and it's probably been about 12 seconds, tops, since Barney was telling Reclamation to stay down.

God I love the pacing of these panels. No sarcasm meant at all.

Dust storms... political uprisings... it's all the same to me.

But, I am guessing at this point that there are several little factions in Templar that all want something different. And they tend to fight over it quite often.

Spike will tell us soon.
