Templar, Arizona: Taxidermy as Art Form.

But hey, what's ART, anyway? I mean really.

Sorry again about last week, guys. But on the plus side, I should have a production journal update ready for you, soon. I've been pretty busy.

Mondo is really extreme and violent movies (sometimes with real footage). "Faces of Death" is an example.

I vastly enjoy the little poster about discounted filth.

And I used to work with a guy like this, I think. He had Asperger's, though. Kind of an excuse, huh?

The taxidermy reminds me of MART (Minnesota Association of Rogue Taxidermists) who actually take real dead things and splice them together.

Like this strip... good dialogue.

I love the two headed bunny :) Special Boy shit indeed.

Our music teacher was from a family of taxidermists, having left the family trade after the buisness fell out of popularity in the 70's.

I just wanna know -- what exactly does one have to do so that the local vice shop won't even sell you pr0n?

I have to agree with Reagan; there's gotta be some 'special boy' behavior behind that.

Cylver "Mondo" refers to the italian "Mondo Cane" (Dog's world) movies from the 60's, who were (pseudo-) documentaries about all sort of morbid and bloody things : executions, murders, cruelty to animals, surgery, tribal initiations, etc...

There's a pretty good entry on it at Wikipedia :

Uh, brigid...

I don't think Asperger's syndrome is an excuse for this kind of shit. I personally have Asperger's and I've never been on a "no sell" list at a vice shop. I find your statement pretty offensive.

Kepp your jackasstastic ASSessments of disorders you don't fully understand to yourself from now on, okay?

zamboni--as someone with your personal experience, why do you think AS is not a valid option for this fictional person?

People with AS aren't alcoholic criminal perverts (anymore than the general population), howzabout that?

Once again, offensive generalization. That was like saying "Yeah, I knew a guy like this once but he was black so he didn't know any better."

Zamboni, I wasn't referring to the do-not-sell list, but Gordon's reluctance to deal with certain people, and inability to recognize certain social cues.

It's your "ASSumption" that I'm referring to something very specific (filth) and not more general (behavior). Although perhaps it wouldn't have been so obvious seeming if I'd left the comment on the previous page, with the "GORDON. Hi. How ya doin." exchange... one that is virtually identical to the way I had to interact with a certain indivual who had Asperger's and who talked about it all. the. time. I was his Flannary. He'd refuse to deal with other employees, and was constantly trying to get around whatever rules or guidelines he didn't agree with, to get what he wanted. Not a trait, in and of itself, of any autism spectrum disorder... but the way he went about it, and the way he reacted to people, so far is similiar to what I've seen of Gordon and his interactions with folk.

I don't think anyone here has stated, or implied, that ASD folk are all lol perverts lol. Please check your bias at the door before accusing people of things they aren't thinking. Your intense focus on this as some kind of anti-Aspergers attack is really kind of offputting and odd.

can't even seel him porn... well a guy could hurt himself from over masterbation I guess...
ever read the book Choke by Chuck Pahanuik? I'm sure you people would appreciate his style. The story is about a sex addict med school drop out who chokes on food to get attention.

...but back to Gordy, my guess is they simply don't want him there.

Explanation accepted. "I knew a guy like this once" is an EXTREMELY vague comment, however, which could (in the context) be taken multiple (and most of them very weird) ways.

I apologize for finding the statement offensive, however an explanation of your reasoning in the initial post would have cleared things up imensely. As it was, a pervert, gun toting, boozaholic guy who can't buy snuff films and is classified as "special boy shit" can not simply be explained/excused by a diagnosis of Asperger's and most of the emphasis from this comic of this character's traits seems to be placed on those particular attributes.

In terms of his Reagan avoidance, I dealt with customers like this all the time working at Taco Hell, who tried to only deal with underling cashiers (or pushover managers) who they thought they could pull bullshit on. It usually happened when they were trying to weasel a discount/free food that they weren't supposed to get or pull other general shenanigans. Whether it stems from mental illness or just being a dick I never did know.

My guess is general assholeishness.

Yeesh. I have Asperger's and don't take Brigid's comment personally. Honestly, Zamboni, the way you reacted ("Kepp your jackasstastic ASSessments of disorders you don't fully understand to yourself from now on, okay") just reinforces the negative stereotypes of us. Thanks a lot, Man.
