Oh, horror of horrors.
Considering the turnaround on some things I've bought online, not getting this book until late March at the earliest is no problem. Honestly, I'm amazed you're getting it out the door THIS early. I was expecting, well, June!

If that's the biggest problem you run into, you're doing fine.

Ditto! I was expecting a "my machine crashed and I made no backups" type calamity! :D

I agree with Rich - it's incredibly impressive to me the speed you've got this done at. What's an extra couple of weeks? The wait'll just make getting it all the sweeter :)
Having said that, I do sympathise. Being unable to get things moving is frustrating.

What they said. I'm very excited (and the cover looks great!) but early- to mid-March is TOTALLY reasonable and you shouldn't feel bad about it in the least.

Fuck's sake, Spike ! Is that what you call bad news ? 3 weeks of delay ?
We can wait ! At least I know I can ! A few weeks ago I didn't even expect to get Templar in print ever... 3 weeks aren't gonna kill me !
From the tone of your post, I was expecting somehing like "I'm sorry, but the book isn't going to be done..." So I'm actually pretty relieved.

Welcome to the wonderful world of self-publishing!
Seriously, though, this is nothing. Totally not upset. Can't wait to see it!

Yea, what everyone else said. I thought you were making some dire announcement and the book was dead. 3 weeks delay is a small bump. I am however really, really glad I'm not Matt!

Before joining in the pile-on, let me say, I can relate. Think about it people. You're totally super excited to get to the super fantastic party! And then you hit that stoplight that takes THREE WEEKS TO CHANGE. Fury!
Real scapegoats? A business that can't manage to shaft you for some extra money to expedite an order after the fact.
This being said, I side with everyone else saying, this wait bothers me not at all. I thought something BAD had happened! Even in the most conventional, established world of retail mail-order print I would scarcely bat an eye at a 3 week delay.
And on the bright side, won't be an issue for the next 9 books, right? Hell, if you put up a pre-order button for the next Templar collection I'd pay for it right now sight-unseen, such an absence of hard feelings there is.
And speaking as a husband? Jeez, give that boy a hug. I'm guessing he is feeling bad disproportionate to the error of clicking a wrong button.

... it was supposed to be done in February?
No worries, Spike. If we want to read the story so desperately, we can view the archives, right? I only bought a copy to keep after the interwebs have moved on. And cause you asked us so nicely.
There was a bar and everything... clicking... so.. easy...
gah!
Anyway no rush!

Talk to Phil Foglio about fuck-ups and delays. At least your fuck-ups are under your control, not buried in legalese.

I agree with everybody in saying that this is not a problem at all. Even with the delay I'm still astonished by the speed at which this is going ahead. Keep up the great work, and stop beating yourself (or Matt) up! Do beat up the ISBN place though because not responding to your customers is a total dick move.

Don't be too hard on the hubby - when a guy gets married, his IQ drops dramatically anyway :)

Cynics would say the IQ drops shortly before getting engaged.
