Templar: FOCUS, Gene.

We're changing subjects. D'you need your hand held?

New votin' sketches, new page, and a pleasant break from Sunny's babbling, sugar-fueled hate-mania and Moze's stunningly brazen pick-up attempt. Enjoy the oasis. Things in general are gonna start winding down for the scene by the end of the week, so you've made it through the worst of the word balloon gridlock. Give yourselves a little cheer.

I apologize if the dialog got a little dense over the last few pages. I literally did not know Sunny and Moze would be this much fun to write for. But on the plus side, I hope you have a good sense of who these guys are, now. They're gonna keep turning up.

And hello and welcome to everyone visiting from my link offa Sensible Erection (NWS). Hope you plan to stick around.

Haha! Check out Ben's eyes in the first panel. I have to say I don't blame him. Placed in the same situation, well...

Gah! I was going to be the first to point that out. Blast you Simon!

I'd be doing that too, if only to distract myself from Curio's rambling. Wow. She really reminds me of my old never-shutting-up roomate, in her style of talking. And Gene really wants to belive that Ben is not musically inept. Wonder how that will go.

Am I the only one who sees Curio as amusing-annoying rather then hateful-annoying? For some reason she's grown on me.

Tuesday has too, wierdly enough. Just because she seems much more self-confident and together then I pictured from her phone conversation.

[checks Ben's eyes in the first panel] Hoo hoo hoo. I missed that.

Curio's rambling in the last panel is amusingly reminiscent of Ben's own self-doubts about being a serious writer back in the clay bar scene. If only she knew.

Sunny, Curio - I love how everyone's practically drooling over Ben when they first meet him here.

I like Gene's "thinking" expression in the first panel. Poor thing's trying so hard.

Aww, poor Ben. I don't think he's ever had someone fan girl at him. He'd have to leave his apartment for that.

His eyes are pretty interesting in that first panel. He's eyeing Curio's boobs like they're going to leap out and attack him.

... which they might. They're already defying gravity, what's a little assault-via-mammary-gland between friends?

Of course, Curio would probably give up the writing thing after a few serious paragraphs, but it's still quite cute to see her "squee" over Ben.

Oh, I wanted to ask, is there any chance we'll get to read any of Ben's writing, for the newspaper or otherwise?

"...what's a little assault-via-mammary-gland between friends?"

Damnit. I need to stop reading things like this while I'm at work.

While I love the art in this comic completely, don't get me wrong, the reason I keep reading it is that these characters are so /strong/, so full and unrepentantly themselves. Regardless of how realisitic, interminable or temporary they are, your writing has made them ALL interesting and memorable, and that's because you/they don't shy away from having them speak when there are things they should be saying. Do not compromise on this for fear of too much text. Your beautiful art is still coming through loud and clear, and this is quickly becoming the best comic I've ever read.

I would just like to take a moment to say that I agree with everything Boy just said. Your characters are wonderfully vivid and... I dunno, visceral somehow. (One day I may come up with a word to describe it that does NOT start with the letter V)

You've done a fabulous job what with the world building, social climate, and dialogue.

That said, Curio's nipples are starting to frighten me.

I'm not sure WHAT it is about them. Something about the way they point up, I think. Her boobs are just generally scary. Well drawn, mind you. No fear on that count. I suspect the boobs might be as fake as the rest of her.I like physics, body parts shouldn't defy it.

I'm just gonna go stand over here away from the boobs. Ben might come join me.

Wait... I think I see what it is.

They're seated so high up on her chest.

Yup, definately fake.

Rachael: Dead. Fuckin'. ON.

Phony as a three-dollar bill.

It's actually gonna come up later, too!

Why all the white (grey?) space in the top of the first panel? Should there be background there? Spike has said she has trouble with architecture... But it does isolate the speach balloons, showing how the speach is isolated from previous musical conversation.

That, and at three pages a week, i can't do backgrounds as often as I used to.

Hey there! (: I've been following your comic for a while, but I have never before commented. I feel I should start because you deserve as much positive feedback as is humanely possible. Hot damn, your comic is fantastic and orgasmic and every shade of wonderful, what with your characterization, concept, and gorgeous art.

Anyway, that taken care of, I love Sunny's aghast side profile n the first panel.

Aw, who could blame Ben for looking? Teh boobies are practically falling out of her tank top. Oh, Curio...

Aww, poor Gene! He's so upset! I love his shocked expression in the first panel, like he can't believe Ben just admitted to wetting himself in public or something.

Is it bad that I kind of identify with Curio?

I also would not put it past Curio to squeeze her upper arms against her body, just enough to give the breasts a little added enhancement. And not only that, but to have been doing it for so long that she doesn't even think about it anymore.

Wait a sec! The fake boobs, the linebacker shoulders, the butch haircut, the moodiness...

1+1+1+1 = Curio is some kind of transgendered, deviated Wo-Man.

That sort of plot point needs no dialogic exposition.

Awww, dangit Anomie! Do you have any idea how hard I was trying to convince myself that couldn't possibly be the case?

Drat. Now I'm paging through looking for an adam's apple.

She's got some intense biceps too. Those are what clued me in. Anyone trying to be as girly as Curio wouldn't be workin out like that.

Either that, or "she" went through a bodybuilding phase and indulged in the horse meds, probably at the suggestion of someone like Bo. Only time will tell!

Ah! There, I just reread the last 30 panels, and the conversation is starting to make more sense. Coming in over several weeks, I was struggling with the meaning of the exchanges and feeling overwhelmed and confused.

So, it's worth going back and restarting. I'm still trying to keep all the characters in mind... so I suggest that the cast page needs an update.

Besides, I like the Dark Continent a lot!! He needs his own description!

Haha! I totally missed the eyes before I saw that. Though I did /not/ miss the badonkadonks. But then, those are hard to miss.

Also I like Tusday. I still don't like Curio, though. Very annoying.
