oh god, that was fabulous. Possibly better than "the cock of science" although it's very difficult to judge.

That truely has to be one of the top scenes of the chapter. Gotta love Scips pesistant smiling even in the event of a horribly awkward moment.
And Huzzah to being able to join the forums. I just hope that a sudden flood of spammers don't arrive.

Hah! Very yes. After dozens of pages of Scip and Reagan constantly teasing and flirting, after chapters of Scip profoundly out of his element, finally we see him here doing the one thing he's really good at: his job. This is Zen Scip. This is the man he has talked to a chicken to become.

Aw, it's just like a little ol' Templar Pieta there in the third panel.

First thing I thought of was that scene from Blazing Saddles:
"Are 'we' awake?"
"...We're not sure. Are 'we'...black?"
"Yes we are."
"Then we're awake, but very puzzled..."
Sneaking suspicion...given the dialogue in this strip and the one where he passed out, does Dr. Bash think he's being taken home for something other than, er, totally altruistic reasons? And is OK with that? Is Scip being hit on, in a very non-specific and ineffective way?
Maybe I just have a dirty mind.

That middle panel is the absolute essence of love, right there.

For anyone else, the pause in the middle panel would've been as confusing as hell.
For Scip, it makes absolute, perfect sense.

Doctor Bash is officially my favorite character. That look of benevolence when he says "Thass fine" is perfect. PERFECT.

I love this page! I think that Scip's behavior is indicative that he's not as naive as he seems. He looks nearly threatening in his kindness. The middle panel seems to metaphorically mirror Dr. Bash's thoughts at the time, those thoughts mainly being "I am being carried by a black person, whether I like it or not, and I better be cordial about it because he could probably break me in half." Classic!

Scip's face in the last panel reminds me of Mose's "Hairy Buddha" look.

I don't think I have ever laughed at a comic as much as I just did for this one. Love it :)

I, too, LOVE this strip. I adore Scip, and this just gives me more reasons to. Ben's thoroughly weirded out look in the last panel is also excellent, although I'm still trying to determine whether he's reacting to the state of the apartment or the conversation at hand.
I also read "If Scip had a kitten every time a drunk said something weird to him, he couldn't do his job" a little differently than I think it was intended on the first go-around - as in, "If Scip had a kitten FOR every time . . ." and I thought, "yeah, it'd be hard to do your job, buried in kittens."
And then I reread it and got the point.
