For a guy trapped on a very skinny ledge pretty high off the ground, he can think and reason remarkably clearly. Whatever else y'might think of Bill, y'gotta give him that.
In other news, my new puppy is named Harvey, and he's remarkably good at standing on his back legs for long periods of time in exchange for turkey cold cuts. Actually getting his poo on in the the right spot, though.... well, we're working on that. Good thing Chicago's got so many free weeklies, we're gonna be going through a lot of newspaper.
I always like Templar, but that's the first time it's made me giggle uncontrollably.
For a quiet guy, Ben panics pretty easily.
(of course I'd panic too, especially if I knew what the family was.)

you do not want to paper train your dog. trust me, i'm a dog owner. multiple dogs over my life. paper training is the worst way to house break a puppy. basically, they don't get the idea of newspaper and just think it's okay to crap inside. what you want to do is crate training. it might seem weird or cruel, but it's the best method. interestingly, many things we humans may percieve as cruel, dogs do not.
also, may i ask how old you dog is? where did you get him? do tell!

Actually, the first thing I thought about when I came to read the update was "Ben should shoot that old man, just right through his window, that would be a good way to solve his problem." I don't know why, I just don't trust Bill, and the fact that he's on a window ledge, all calm and collected, part of the Family, got a hood, big beard, if I was Ben, I wouldn't trust him either. Shoot, I might just close my shades, get a book and a chair, and sit there waiting to see how long Bill takes to figure a way out. That would be pretty interesting.
I probably make a lot of stupid choices in my life, but hell, they're fun choices! XD
I'm seconding the crate training. See, dogs don't soil their "dens." The crate becomes the dog's den, and you gradually expand the area, if I remember correctly. The crate also acts as the dog's private place, his hidey home. Even dogs need time alone some times.
