Templar: Cutting it close. Again.

That look Reagan's talking about exists. It's kinda skeezy. And depending who you are, it either scares the shit out of you or pisses you off.

I need a shower. And to never work retail again.

More Saturday.

That line, "let's see how crazy he is when crazy's got consequences" was really, really good. Gives us a lot of insight into Reagan's mindset. I'm kinda leery of her now, though not to say I feel sorry for Gordon.

I'm more worried for Ben there. "He don't need no fuckin' pill. [...] Ain't nuthin wrong with that goon an' ol' fashioned brick-an'-bike-chain ass-kickin' couldn't clean out." Damn. What's Ben thinking now?

Brick-and-bike-chain...goddamn, girl. I don't know enough about psychology to say whether Gordon's one of 'em, but I feel that way about a lot of these kids online. Asperger's Sydrome my such-and-such--it's living in a social arena with no consequences, not 'mild, high-functioning autism'.

And to lay it out here, old gay pervs have got to be te worst when it comes to this look. That "I'm gonna find you in a dark alley" look. Ack, ew. And there's always one at the club.

Glad Jason mentioned that. I don't think I would have picked it up had someone not mentioned it, but yeah. That's gotta kind of make Ben feel weired.

...And I doubt Scip's well-meaning pity does much to soothe the sting.

What's the point of a 24 hour store ban if he's already blacklisted from buying anything there?

He can't buy nuthin', but that doesn't mean he's never allowed on the property. If he knew how to behave himself, they would probably let him window-shop.

Regan has a point to some degree, i mean, im not one who believes in ADD or other minor disorders like that. but when she was talking about "girl-hater-rape-eye" what was she saying, that if Gordon doesn't have a girlfriend, he doesn't have anybody?

I think she's just saying Gordon is a misogynist who gets off on mentally tormenting women.

First time posting. I have been reading since the Penny Arcade link (I know, how uncool am I to come to the counterculture through the counter culture that became its own mainstream?)

Regardless, I wanted to stop by, and say a few things. First, you're great Spike. Like, good grief, great. Your writing is superb, and I love the subtleties like today, where I am having a hard time telling whether Flannery is scared, pitying, or just timid watching Gordon leave. I have this crazy inference that as Gordon leaves, she shifts her attention to Ben in the last panel, almost a perspective piece from the mousy one's pov.

I love the subtlety of the dialogue too, with the aforementioned 'don't need a pill' talk in front of a medicated guy.

At the same time, having been a medicated child, and an unmedicated adult, I can kind of identify with the transition stage, where you're questioning how crazy you really are.

Last, your art is wonderful. I'm a bit of an art snob, having had an art teacher for a mom, I got to see all sorts of art, classical and modern, and I love comics of all sorts, but your art style is superb, well shaded, and crisp, everything I've come to not expect from random web comics I come across.

I want to thank you for putting out such a great comic.

So, I bought your print version, on the day I saw that it was going to be delayed. Because you deserve the support, and I want you to know, I don't mind delays at all.

Be Well
