New page, and new voting sketches. The sketches are another series: Templar moms. The three people featured? The mothers of three cast members that have already been introduced. I think one's a total gimme, one's sorta easy, and the other's kinda tough. See if you can guess who squatted out whom.
Also, I fixed the tip jar! It no longer charges shipping and handling, which was dumb. Sorry about that, guys. But thank you for donating anyway, despite that annoyance. You're the goddamn best.
On to the meandering digressions.
I probably shouldn't have kids. Haven I mentioned this before? I may have. Because I've recently decided that Arkham is the best name for a boy ever. Ever ever ever. I like it lots better than my previous favorite, which was Atomic. The only problem is that people might mistake it for a Batman reference instead of a Lovecraft one, so his middle name would have to be Miskatonic or Reanimator or Dagon or Stygian Cyclopean, and nobody wants that. Weird-name kids need nice, dull middle names, in case they decide to become accountants or something.
But seriously, if I got knocked up and had a boy? Arkham. Don't test me on this, uterus. Everyone involved will be sorry.
And I linked Ian J.'s (and Jim G's!) nockFORCE an update or two ago, because I liked it. I like the new quickie they have up, too. Too early for fan art, maybe? Nah.
Oh, and one more thing.

They're here.
Orders start goin' out the door July 5th. If I'm lyin', I'm dyin'.
I'm going to guess the mothers! Left to right: Gene, Reagan, and. . . Mose?
Also, this comic is awesome.
I'm thinking ??? [Reagan's?], Ra's ma, and ...Mose's or Curio's? I dunno, probably wrong on all counts :P
I like today's comic. Even though she's entirely fake, I rather like Curio's taste in things she chooses to go to in order to make her seem less shallow.
Also, I love every time Reagan and Scip interact. They're FUN.
I gotta say i haven't got a clue 'bout the middle one. Might be Ray's mum i guess but it's kinda hard to imagine the kind of person who'd spawn her. To the right in the Inca gear is Mose's mum i guess, cos they have the same face. And the left one I imagine is Gene's mother cos she looks like a Jakeskin. Well either Gene or Zora's.
And thanks for introducing Rome to me Spike by mentioning awhile back. It helps ease the pain of the loss of Deadwood.
Laura's right about Gene's mom and Moze's mom. But no one's guessed the middle one, yet!
And you're quite welcome, Ash. I love Rome. Desperately.
...isn't the middle one Curio's?
Nope! Guess again!
Hmm. Ok, based solely on the eyebrows and the arm tattoo, I'm going to take another guess at the middle mother. Hazel's?
I'm kind of worried as to what you'd name a girl...
(And I'm guessing Hazel for the middle mother.)
I'm guessing Reagan's mom in the middle. Something about the nose, and the cross, and the angry.
The middle one is a Templar Mum -- see the sincerest heart on her shoulder? So, guessing it is NOT Ben's mum.
My guess? Epiphany's mum.
Man, the middle one HAS to be Sunny's mom. You know that kind of rage he has came from a woman.
Mabus wins!
Sunny's mom, Curio's mom, Moze's mom. That's my guess.
Too late; but gee, I thought Sunny's mom was the gimme. Looks just like him.
Man, Arkham would be a fantastic boy's name. I can see him rebelling against your choice of name by telling everyone you picked it because you're a huge Batman fan.
Arkham Reanimator! What a great name.
Now I need to get a pet so I can name it that... maybe a nice Shoggoth....

"Because I've recently decided that Arkham is the best name for a boy ever. Ever ever ever."
DO IT! Do iiiiiiiiiiiit!
"The only problem is that people might mistake it for a Batman reference instead of a Lovecraft one, so his middle name would have to be Miskatonic or Reanimator or Dagon or Stygian Cyclopean, and nobody wants that. Weird-name kids need nice, dull middle names, in case they decide to become accountants or something."
I have a simple solution to this:
Arkham Randolf-Carter (Your last name here)
That way he can retreat to Randolf-Carter if accountancy calls, but there's no mistaking where that came from.
PS: Great to see the book is out in a few days.
I can just see it now. "Atomic Arkham Trotman-Sherridan, you get in here right now and clean up after the dogs Thomas, Harvey, and Hilary! Right now, young man!"
I like Curio.
I always liked Arkansas for a boy's name, because it could be shortened to Ark, which is awesome. I think you just suggested a better way to get to there, though. Cue Seinfeldian baby name antics!
Yay the book is here the book is here the book is here!!!
A sincerist mom, eh? Well now I start to wonder if Epiphany's mewlings of "but I can't! I'm stuuuupiiid!" come from genuine self-hatred rather than a ploy to get her own way all the time. I can't imagine having a parent call your crayon doodles "completely wrong" and "fucking hideous" helping out your fragile child ego very much.
I would just like to take a moment to point out that tattoos last forever. Quite often, longer than a person's commitment to them.
Like, if I were dating a guy named Bill, and I got his name tattooed on my arm? If he left me a year later and I never saw him again and I came to HATE HIM, I would still have his name on my arm.
Just throwin' that out there.
Indeed, spike... It would appear from the sketchy interlude leading into this chapter that there are many lapsed sincerists roaming the streets.
And something about tattooing seems a bit off for a sincerist, since, being totally honest with themselves, they ought to know that it may be a passing fancy, as well as the fact that when you wear long sleeves the identifying mark becomes hidden from view.
Atomic's up for grabs? Sweet. I am SO making that comic...
DON'T DIE.
Also, Regan's response and the facial expression that accompanies it are classic. I like how Ben has already made it into two close-knit social circles with minimal effort, haha.
Oh god. My roommate decided that I'm never allowed to name the children, because I think that Lyle and Matthew are good girl names, and March and November are good boy names.
She said she'd lock me outta the delivery room just to make sure.
There's true love right there for ya.
Recently I've come to fancy Tyranny as a girl's name. Before that it was Militia (it could pass for Melissa).
also YAY BOOKS.
