Running out the door as I post...

Hey, guys! I'm gonna be at Youmacon this weekend in Detroit! On a panel and everything, if you can believe it. Something about webcomics, I dunno. Drop by my table and say hi! Or come listen to me blather incessantly. Should be fun.

Templar will update at Midnight on Friday, and Webcomic Idol's second round will be concluding on Saturday; if you haven't voted yet, I hope you'll consider it. And maybe consider forcing others to do the same. If I come in first, I'll do something dreadful for you, like play the Sims and tell you stories about it. Or something else. Yeah.

Anyway, look for the page on Friday.

Bye!

Holy hell, that's my general vicinity! And I'm ...fuck I'm busy all the next three days!

Why weren't you here last week instead? I had NOTHING going on! Arrrgghhghghg

Ok, semi-double post 'cause I've stuck around knowing when the comic would update...

Well, we knew Ben was a bright boy, but that is just BRILLIANT.

Is he trying to trick his family into thinking he ran off to Seattle?

Either that, or Templar wasn't the first choice on Ben's run-away-from-home list.

Considering he's leaving all these clues everywhere, I'm inclined to go with the "trick his family" option. Mind you, we still don't know WHY he'd want to trick his family, but I have a sneaking suspicion by the end of this storyline we'll find out.

Curse my inability to vote on Webcomics Idol more than once! Curse it!

That is one cold mother. Now we know why his family didn't track him to Templar.

Also MOAR ESTABLISHING SHOTS! RAR!

This page is fantastic in showing just how smart Ben is.

There are too many cases of intelligent characters spouting off reams of random trivia at every chance they get.

HEHEHE! Yay for Seattle? I love this place, outside of the traffic. I love how you can show freaking out without any words.
Although I'm confused as to whether he's GATHERING or getting rid of Seattle things... Guess I'll see for sure on the next page!

Oh wait I get it now. That's what I get for reading comics too early in the morning.
HAHA! Cool....

I vote for the tricking his family speculation.

I'm loving how terribly clever he's being.

That's how you do it right there. Smart.

Spike, are there any websites or online galleries that you really like to use often for referencing poses or checking anatomy?

Alan...I don't know what Spike uses, but when I'm looking for poses I check morguefile.com, sxc.hu, and deviantart's stock images section. Just be careful with devArt, there are some people who have a lot of stipulations regarding use of their images...but there are also a lot of stock photographers/models willing to do specific poses if you ask for them. FlickrCC is also worth checking out, but again, be careful of the stipulations.

i was there and met you and even though I havent read the comic until now the way you spoke to me then made me want to come here and read it

Alan: Spike has a huge artist's morgue of reference photos that she adds to whenever she finds something useful online. (That famous Reagan thong shot in Chapter One? Referenced from some BBW fetish photo, if I recall correctly.) Otherwise, she just does a Google image search or drafts me into service to hold a pose for a moment while she skectches some basic lines.

you got at least 30 votes from my MSN list! and most of them are now starting to read the webcomic!
Cheers from Brazil
