Poll Time!

Hi, guys. This is me, askin' you for a favor.

I currently have an Etsy shop that's been lying fallow for months. That's pretty stupid of me, since I'm being charged for it. but for the life of me, I can't think of anything to put in there. You're charged for posting items for sale, naturally, and I don't have any idea what might sell.

So, that's where you come in. Feel like clicking a button for me?

If you have a request OTHER than what I have in the poll, just comment on the entry with it. Thanks in advance, and chapter three wraps up Monday! Plus, a couple of commissions in the mail.

I probably wouldn't buy anything off that list unless it was an especially cool print. I would, however, buy some buttons if you made them. Not sure if there's enough interest (yours included), but I'm throwing it out there.

Seconding the buttons idea.

I would also buy patches of the various factions in Templar (Sincerists, Reclamation, hell, the whores ...).

Templar posters would be nice, too.

Thirding the buttons, seconding the posters. Also, maybe t-shirts? I love t-shirts. Ah, the noble t-shirt, so long undervalued. Hooray for t-shirts. Yeah.

Ooo.. Buttons, yes. Seconding Sincerist & Reclamation patches! Band shirts? (Borndown and others, maybe)

Buttons and faction patches are awesome ideas, in addition to other aforementioned stuffs.

Hypothetically? I would buy Templar stuff. Realistically? I'm a student, man, I'm still trying to figure out if I can afford to buy the second book which I want oh so badly. So. Maybe closer to "I wouldn't buy anything." Not yet, anyway.

I probably wouldn't buy anything, as I'm on a very lean budget. Student loans suck. Disabling adblocking when I'm viewing webcomics is the best way I can support my favourite artists for now. That being said, I do love the idea of faction patches. Since they're not obtrusively "merchandise-y", a fan could wear or display them without looking like a walking billboard. Plus, they'd probably look pretty cool.

I'd buy a decent jacket with the Reclamation logo on the back. Or armband lol.
Way down the road, I'd definitely buy a big anthology trade paperback type deal.

Just reinforcing that buttons idea. I would LOVE a Sincerists button. I was thinking about making myself a little Sincerist's patch to stick on my purse for shits and giggles. A button would save me a tiny amount of work.

Buttons, T-Shirts, Patches, Stickers (including BUMPER Stickers) I'm n-thing.

Hell, I'd buy action figures.

If the prints were non-Templar, I'd be interested in Sparkneedle merch.

Culver, says a baby naming website.
alternately Cullent.

What sort of crowd are you trying to target?

If you're looking to get new people interested in your art, put up some Sparkneedle stuff, stuff in color, things that catch the eye without having to know the storyline behind it. Templar is awesome, but it relies heavily on the long story arc and subtle jokes, and on Etsy, you'd probably be selling more based on one-off art, rather than anything storyline-intensive.

Or at least, that's how I would do it, based on what I've observed on Etsy.

If you're more interested in selling to your established readership (us), put up Templar stuff, because that's the project you're currently working on that we're all following.

Sincerist patches for sure

Ben action figure, with kung-fu grip and realistic stammering sounds! Reagan, with dildo and horrible porn accessories! Scip, with real fabric kilt and pet chicken! Moze, with beer can, and... what's that? It's not a beer can?

Patches would be very cool. And I also might buy non-Templar artwork (Maternity Corset is hanging in my living room) but the buttons didn't allow for multiple options.

Back to the story: I feel dumb, but who's phone number is that?

Buttons, patches, anything clothing related (hats and shirts especially), stickers I might be interested in. :) I really like your art but I dunno that I'd buy a Templar-related item -- I'd prefer something original and cool. But I could be persuaded by the right Templar design.

But I'm a hella poor art student so I can't guarantee I'd buy something at all... Sorry. Just hoping to help out with ideas.

Wow. Speaking as a private detective/background investigator...

...Everything. From a phone number, you can reverse trace a name and address. From that, you can find a social security number. From SSN you can get a list of addresses associated with a name from credit bureaus and commercial reference files for a few decades back. From that you can find what jurisdictions to research, and hire researchers to go to county and district courthouses. Criminal, civil, land records, liens, judgments, business names...someone researches everything for a fee. You can often find statewide databases, too, and sometimes free court research options online.

Scary, isn't it?

I'd love a Sincerists patch! Wouldn't want to BE a Sincerist, but they have cool patches!

If I could choose more than one, I'd say both the first two options.

If I had more discretionary income I'd love to be able to buy your original drawings (either commission, Templar, or Non-Templar, I'm easy) on Etsy as well.

In addition to the original art, I'd probably buy buttons, patches, or jewelry from the comic (gear pendant with "Reclamation" around the outside, something like that).

It's not that I don't want to buy anything, but I'm more partial to functional. I'd love to display some of your art if not for the budget. It's things like coasters or calendars and such that would definitely get my bid. (And your books, of course...but I consider books a necessity.)

I just remembered what I would specifically like to see on a poster - remember when Ben and Scip are walking to Kingdom Come? (I think that's when it was...) They passed a poster that said "We're trying to have a civilization here". I want that. :D
