Templar: The Elliotts return!

Two pages of 'em since I last posted, too.

Remember these guys? Hope so.

Also, the cartoonist cameos continue! Kris Straub, who in real life is as sweet as pie and a stand-up kinda dude and is never ever ever seen carrying half-conscious gals around, volunteered for this unflattering depiction. Good for him.

Kris does a whole lot of comics, but my personal favorite this very second is chainsawsuit. Go read it, it's fun.

Also, in case you hadn't noticed: Templar is now a member of Love Shack Comics. If you're into long-format, page-style drama and comedy...And what are you doing here if you're not... You might wanna give its newsbox a quick click-around.

Later!

Those are the Elliots?

They look... Completely different.

It looks like a younger version of EJ. It's almost as though the second intermission is a flashback...

Railoc : it's one of the Elliots. We haven't seen the other one yet.

Goddamnit, I hate these. This is one of those "I just finished the archives and I'm goddamn hooked" comments, meaning now I have to wait for each update.
*kicks a puppy*

Dude, it's templar, you should read the archives twice just so you can realize how it all ties together.

Uh? What is going on? I keep waiting for it to get to a part of the story I can understand, and it just continues to baffle me.

You know, this sequence is weirding me out, because my wife's name is "E.J." Although she doesn't resemble "EJ" in any way. But I used to know people who did sort of resemble the Elliots, and I'd prefer to forget them.

Damn. Biggs looks like he's fallen on harder times since we last saw him.

"...th' people. I dunno. S'like th' Circassian."

...Where they didn't let him watch the fucking, either.

Hello Spike!

I just finished swimming through the archives, and I just want to shout out that this comic is awesome! I love the funky little world you've built here, and I can't wait to see more of it.

My favorite part about Templar is how real the characters seem. I can hear their voices so clearly in my mind when they talk, it's a little scary. And yes, it's confusing when they reference things that I know nothing about, but that's realistic. It's jumping into a complex web of relationships, and it's great to try and puzzle it all out.

Peace!

Keep up the wonderful work, Taz! Screw the haters! Or the... non-comprehend...ers? Whatever, screw 'em! We get your comic!

...yes I read your twitter and yes I am trying to make you feel better.

I really like about 75% of the archives contents, I read this day to day, and check comments to see discussion of what I missed, and I got to say, I have been at a loss this whole new section, it seems like a lot of set up with out the explanation phase that setup is for.

Basically, I am saying you have forgotten to ever get to the point.

And that is coming from a fan, who wishes to see more of the story you are weaving on the grander scale.

Templar does this all the time. Remember the scene after the cock-o-science, where Ben, Scipio and Reagan meet Sunny and Moze? I kept coming back here and kept not-understanding what in the name of god was going on. And it was NOT comforting when Sunny asked if Ben could handle blood. (Though it was delightful!)

Templar's written to be read together so ya gotta be patient. In a graphic novel a few pages of WTF is fun. In online updates it's a few weeks of WTF. But I have faith that all shall be revealed.

If the scene is driving you crazy, just come back in two weeks. It will make sense again.

Probably.

Anyway, we're just -getting- to the point. This has been set-up. The whores installed wethouses, where the Elliots are staying after having been booted out of a Reclamation place (and potentially other places). Now we get to see what they're doing.

Yer not a fainter, are you? You can handle blood, right?

I don't know why people are having such a hard time with this one -- all the scenes are pretty much following one another when taken as a whole. Maybe because it's the only chapter so far that hasn't featured Ben from the get-go. But remember, part of Templar is it's people, and he's not the only person here with a story to tell. I'm glad to see the Elliots again because I'd been wondering what was going on with them since the Intermission.

Give it time. This is like expecting a movie to start out with "BRUCE WILLIS IS REALLY A GHOST" or "LEIA IS HIS SISTER instead of bothering with any set-up.

Anyway. Happy Birfday, Spike! Don't do anything Reagan wouldn't do! I wish you many puppies and kittens! Thank you for keeping this comic going!

Tell me he's not going to inject that into his penis. I can deal with femoral artery, or femoral vein.

But he's taking off his paaaaaaaaaants...

di'Taykan - brace yourself and try to have something hard to bite on when you check for the next update. You just never known what Spike might spring!
